Our mission
The Institute of Goodness works with educators, researchers and changemakers to make goodness count — through a curriculum, an index and a movement.

Get involvedWhat we believe
Goodness is not a lecture. It is a set of concrete, teachable qualities — and what can be taught can be measured, and what is measured is valued.
What we do not measure, we do not value
The founding logic: unmeasured goodness becomes invisible, and what is invisible is not nurtured. The Goodness Index makes it visible again.
Read the founding columnHappiness is a state; goodness is the action
Happiness cannot be commanded or taught; goodness can be practised. The Goodness Index makes how we live and relate to others visible — the cause, not the symptom.
The IndexVasudhaiva Kutumbakam
The world is one family. The Institute is politically and religiously neutral by design so the movement can outlast any government or community.
Our principlesOur purpose
To help create a society that is not merely more prosperous, but more trusting, harmonious and happier — by making goodness taught, practised, measured, recognised and celebrated.
1. Practise it
Personal Social Responsibility: experiential learning from nursery to university, built on the five foundations. Habit formation, not moral preaching.
PSR curriculum2. Measure it
The Goodness Index™ for individuals, organisations and society — for reflection and improvement, never to label anyone good or bad. And a private Goodness Score anyone can check in minutes.
The Goodness Index3. Recognise it
Mission Chetna identifies, connects, strengthens and celebrates the changemakers already doing the work — the Chetna Heroes.
Chetna Heroes4. Build the evidence
2026–28 build, 2028–29 validate, 2029–30 demonstrate — then partner-led scale, in India and abroad, and in time a University of Goodness.
Our impact and roadmapAcademic partners
The Institute's research and curriculum are co-created with India's finest institutions.
